A tenant who wants to leave their commercial premises and transfer the lease to a new tenant needs to ensure all the paperwork is handled properly, particularly if the transfer is connected with the sale of their business.

Our Transfer of Lease service provides:

• the deed of assignment between the landlord, the outgoing tenant and their guarantor (if any) and the incoming tenant and their guarantor (if any);

• a detailed commentary on the deed of assignment, which explains the document in detail and allows you to understand the transaction, the deed and the things you need to know to negotiate the best outcome; and

• a letter of advice which sets out the steps you need to take, in the right order, to ensure everything runs smoothly.
